Paul was wonderful and very accommodating. I accidentally left a whole bag of gifts from my European trip, and he kept it in the office so I could collect it later. The location is great too, about a 5-6 minute walk to the metro, with good restaurants nearby and a small grocery store two blocks away if you want to cook. We stayed in the “Kashan” unit, advertised as a two-bedroom apartment. The second bedroom is in the attic and has a bathroom, but neither the bedroom nor bathroom has a door, so privacy is limited. We didn't use that bathroom. The apartment was cute and very Parisian, but its condition needs attention: loose items on the walls, exposed wires from two light switches that we were afraid to use, a couple of lights that didn't work, and wallpaper peeling in many places. The apartment we got didn't match the photos that drew us in. The listing includes several units, and booking through booking.com didn't tell us which one we'd get. Ours was on the top floor of an old building with no lift. Carrying six pieces of luggage up and down uneven stairs was difficult, and the place isn't accessible. I'd still recommend booking here, but make sure to confirm which unit you'll get.

Paul, the concierge, was helpful and nice, but the owner's response to our concerns was awful. Our AC was needed for medical reasons, yet it didn't work. When we asked for repairs or a refund for the unused nights, the owner blamed us for the maintenance issues and the AC failure, even though the repair person said it was a maintenance problem. The owner said we'd opened the windows, though it was colder outside, and we showed that the AC never cooled the unit below 75 degrees. He dismissed us, attacked us, told us to leave without a refund, lied to booking.com, blamed us for the conditions, and said he “knows your type” who just want a refund. We wanted money back only for the nights we wouldn't use. He refused, then stopped responding. booking.com wasn't much help either. The place looked charming and the location was very good, but the facilities and upkeep were worn and broken. There were leaking faucets that dripped onto clean dishes, sewage smells in one of our two units, outlets coming out of walls, mold, soap scum, musty smells, and dirty floors. None of the trash can pedals worked, and the bedroom ceiling lights were controlled by switches downstairs, which was comical.

The building is beautiful and the location is great, but a rat had eaten the packaged food I left on the kitchen table overnight. Rats are a health hazard. The sink also leaks onto the floor when you wash your hands, getting your feet wet. I couldn't reach anyone on staff. They emailed to say they were on a train and that I should know this isn't a hotel. Very disappointing.

Don't go there. The place was horribly damp, and my girlfriend had an allergic reaction, so I asked for a refund. The stairs were narrow, the lift wasn't working, and we had to carry our suitcase up three levels. The toilet wouldn't flush when I arrived. On top of that, the host was very rude, called us bad people, and said he hoped not to see us again. I paid £600 to stay and got nothing back.

The hotel management was the most repugnant and inflexible I've ever dealt with. Neither the property nor its location was what you'd expect. Be wary.
