ibis Poitiers Sud

The rooms need renovating, and the online pictures don't match reality. Breakfast was good, the team were friendly, and parking was free.

The room was clean and the bedding fresh, and there was plenty of free parking on site. The location is great, but the hotel is overdue for a refurb, with worn, tired decor. There was no complimentary tea-making setup in the room. It felt more like a budget Ibis than a full-featured one, and it was expensive compared with the competition. The woman at reception was unwelcoming at check-in, though the woman there when we left was lovely.

The restaurant service was appreciated, especially the manager's clear warning about the wait after a kitchen problem. They didn't leave us wondering what was happening. Staff were always welcoming at reception, whatever time we arrived or how busy it was. The food service was good too. Although the rooms are aging, they're still pleasant and comfortable. The hotel is also easy to reach from the A10 via the Poitiers South exit.

This was our third visit, and we enjoyed it. We slept very well: the bed was comfortable, and the road noise was slight, though some might prefer a room at the back. The standard bedroom looked a bit tired, but it was satisfactory. The hotel has plenty of parking, backs onto Ibis Budget, and sits opposite a fuel station and large supermarket. There's a restaurant on the road behind it and a bakery selling coffee on the corner. It's in a good spot with easy motorway access, and the staff are friendly. There are a few English-language TV channels. Dinner at the Ibis restaurant was excellent value, and the staff were lovely. Ibis could provide more towels and better ones.
