Golden Tulip Paris CDG Villepinte

We stayed at the Golden Tulip for five weeks while my colleagues and I worked at the Paris 2024 Olympics. It’s conveniently placed for the airport, and the village at the edge of the hotel has a nice range of restaurants and bars. Breakfast was generous, with plenty of choice. The rooms look a little tired at first, but they were comfortable and clean. They were thoroughly cleaned each day, with fresh water bottles left for us. I had no trouble with security either: my valuables stayed unlocked for all five weeks without any incident or concern. The staff were consistently polite, helpful, and courteous. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it.

The receptionist was rude and made a strange comment about the deposit. She said, “In 1 star hotels they might charge less but since we are 4 stars we charge a higher deposit.” My mom and I just looked at her in confusion because we hadn’t said anything about the price. I’ve stayed at Marriott and other 5 Star hotels and have never been spoken to like I was a beggar. We were only here in transit because it was my only option, but the experience was ridiculous. The staff were horrible and rude. I wish I could give this hotel -1000. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

The hallways and rooms smell horrible. At the restaurant downstairs, our server practically ignored our table while sitting behind the bar talking with the other bartender. We had to go over to the bar area multiple times just to get his attention. They also charged us for tap water, even though there is a law requiring it to be served free. The restaurant staff were careless and rude.

The food presentation was great, and as a regular guest you should be satisfied. But when your flight arrives so late that you miss your connection and get a voucher for a free dinner, the food is very basic and drinks aren't included. A single beer at the bar was almost €10. You can only dream of prices like that in Spain or Germany. The Czech Republic is in another universe 😜
