The relaxed atmosphere, lovely pool and beach area, and plentiful loungers and towels made this a beautiful place to stay. The views are exceptional. Service was the letdown. At $1,000 a night in peak season, I expected staff to go beyond the basics, but it didn’t even meet expectations. I’d read similar reviews before we came. We were sometimes ignored, and staff didn’t greet us when we entered restaurants. I’m not sure whether that’s French service culture, but better staff training and attention to service could make this a true five-star hotel.

Our dog was made to feel welcome, and the staff went out of their way to make the whole stay memorable. The concierge even found us a snorkeling option after my wife asked about it on a whim. From the friendly valet who met us when we drove up to the room being ready ahead of schedule, things got off to a great start. The pool area was outstanding, with attendants who were just as helpful as the rest of the team. Drinks were exceptional, the food was high quality, and the Wi-Fi was fantastic for getting work done while on holiday. I also loved the wristband keys since they’re harder to lose. We’ll definitely be back.

The beach mattresses were a great way to enjoy the stunning view, and the location itself is extraordinarily beautiful. Our room was spacious, stylish, well equipped, and had a lovely balcony. The staff were well trained and very helpful, and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet’s wide choice of treats. We were a little disappointed with the meals we had, one at each restaurant. The Michelin restaurant is expensive: some dishes were extraordinary, but others felt too rich, and the menu was too long. The main hotel restaurant was fine, though uninspiring. Our tart had a soggy bottom.

The setting is stunning, and the hotel has a nicely designed interior. The rooms could be more spacious for the price. There are some really good staff members, but overall service falls short of the standard this hotel aims for. At the pool, service felt very inexperienced. Orders were forgotten and took a long time, despite the astronomical prices, with spritzes over €20 and iced coffees at €12. We also left some belongings in our room and contacted reception right away. They only responded after a second follow-up, saying simply that nothing was there. That was obviously wrong, since they hadn’t checked, and the hotel never answered another follow-up. It looks great on Instagram and the pool area is nice to hang out in, but service needs to improve a lot for the price.
