Hotel Hannong

Breakfast and the coffee bar had a great selection, and the hotel's warm, festive feel suited our Christmas plans so well. We stayed at the Hannong Hotel & Wine Bar over Christmas, and Susannah and Joanna deserve a special mention for helping make Christmas Eve memorable for our family and friends. Everyone made us feel cared for, with thoughtful attention throughout. The service from all the staff was impeccable. We can't wait to return, and would recommend the Hannong to anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming place with such attentive service. Thank you for making our Christmas special.

When our daughter came down with a bronchial infection shortly after we arrived, the staff arranged a telephone appointment with a doctor in Paris within an hour, even though it was Sunday. The prescriptions she got brought quick relief. We were very grateful for how the front desk, restaurant and bar, and housekeeping staff looked after us throughout our eight nights over Christmas. Breakfast was excellent too, so we could start the day without needing to find another meal elsewhere. We had two spotless, well-appointed rooms on the first floor, including the junior suite. There was a little wear showing on a couch furnishing and some parquet flooring, but it did not affect our stay. The hotel is in Petite France, with Place Kleber, the Cathedral, and other cultural and historic sights an easy jaunt away. Everyday needs are nearby, and the tram stops and main train station are close for going farther afield. Thank you to the operators and staff for a lovely stay.

Everyone, from reception to housekeeping, was friendly and helpful, and they were always ready with advice. There were thoughtful touches like daily gifts and a present when we left, plus a generous afternoon spread of cake and drinks in the lounge. In the room, we appreciated the water, good tea, and instant coffee; the lounge also had bean-to-cup coffee and hot chocolate. There was a fridge but no minibar, so no surprise extras. The shower was excellent, though it was over the bath and the screen didn't keep the splashes in, so I needed extra towels on the floor. The mirror wasn't heated either, so I had to wait after showering to use it. Rooms are on the small side, in line with others in the city. Still, this was a very good quality 4-star hotel, well priced for the season and service. The Hannong family is part of Strasbourg's history, and the hotel lives up to it. We'd definitely return. We were made to feel very looked after during our three nights here, even with the hotel busy. The staff worked quickly, kept smiling, cleared plates, refilled things, and helped guests as needed. Angelica handled breakfast with real professionalism, and the reception team were genuinely polite and helpful. Amelie checked us in and talked us through the area and the main Christmas markets. Everyone was so nice. They even left us a lovely bottle of Cremant sparkling wine for the birthday we were celebrating. My friend and I absolutely recommend this hotel.
