Holiday Inn Express Strasbourg - Centre by IHG

The staff were good and seemed to do what they could to make the stay more pleasant. The location is on the quieter side, about a 15-20 minute walk from the center. Breakfast was included in our rate and had a basic spread of bread, cold cuts, and cheese, nice to start the day with. The rooms felt quite small with luggage and had only basic amenities. There's no air conditioning, which was fine for us in winter since we don't mind opening the windows, but summer would be different. There was no mini fridge or complimentary bottled water; reception said the tap water was drinkable. No bidet either, if that's something you're used to in Middle Eastern hotels. The Wi-Fi was very slow, sometimes barely working.

The room was modern and nice, though the heating was off and it was still very hot when we arrived, so we opened the windows a little. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean and well maintained, and the TV had Netflix and YouTube, which was a nice extra. It's about a 15-minute walk to the city center and to Rivetoile shopping center. Staff let us check out an hour late, which we appreciated, and also helped us get the car out of the parking. The Starbucks machine in the lobby worked well. The late checkout was a bit awkward, though. While we were getting ready to leave, the cleaning lady knocked around five times. We said no each time, but she kept making faces, which felt rude and inconvenient. The hotel itself was fine, but personally I wouldn't return to Strasbourg.

Good location, large clean rooms, and friendly staff. The breakfast crew were especially welcoming. A tip for weekends: street parking is free from Saturday until Monday morning.

Robert and Semilia were so helpful and friendly during our six days and five nights at Holiday Inn Express Strasbourg, France, at the end of August 2025. I was helping one of my daughters settle in to study in Strasbourg for ten months, and they helped us find the nearest phone shop to get a French phone number. They also gave us advice about banking there. They really made the trip easy and enjoyable. They're simply the best, and we'll come back, probably in June 2026 when my daughter finishes school.
