Residhotel Lyon Lamartine

The room was cold, and the windows didn't close properly. Nothing about this place felt well kept, and I truly hope no one else stays here. There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night, making it impossible to sleep. Cleaning was poor: white splashes on the floor, and water and whatever else collecting in the sink. Breakfast was stale and, frankly, garbage. Service was only open for a few hours, and if you needed help at night, you had to call a number. I can't believe this is even called a three-star hotel. It's the worst hotel I know.

The accommodation itself was decent, about 3.5 stars, but the hallways were dark and dingy and I didn't feel safe moving around inside. The area also didn't feel very safe. The main entrance was hard to reach, and the parking garage sits on a steep hill that's difficult to drive in and out of. There was broken glass and a container full of cigarette butts on our balcony, so my kids couldn't play out there. Other guests left rubbish in the halls even after staff posted a notice. The staff kept the breakfast room doors practically locked, and didn't like adding breakfast to your bill if you hadn't reserved it.

The staff were friendly, but for the price and distance from the centre, the room wasn't very clean. There was no toilet paper when we arrived, the curtains were broken and hanging off, and I found someone's old eyelashes stuck to the bedside lamp. Pretty gross.

I booked one room for seven nights and loved the place. The rooms are beautiful, with a fully equipped kitchen and clean bathrooms. Reception was quick to respond to every question. I'd recommend staying here.
