The town is lovely, with nice bars and restaurants, and the location is hard to beat. You can step out front to the sea or use the private back door to reach the old lanes. The train station is a short walk, though getting to the bus stops means going up two hills. Maeva La Palais is clean and nice enough, but very basic. It was the smallest apartment I’ve stayed in. If you’re used to a touring caravan, you can probably manage the juggling. Once the bed is pulled out, you have to climb over it to reach the toilet. The kettle has to go either on the floor or on the hot oven. The manager was extremely helpful and got us a microwave when we asked. If, like us, you’re drawn to a beautiful spot on the Mediterranean, this is one of the best. The apartment works well if you plan to eat out and mostly use it for sleeping.
