The bed was really comfortable, and I slept very well in the spacious room. The hotel is in a great central spot, no more than a 10-minute walk from the main attractions. The decor is quite rustic, which I liked for its charm. The price for what you get is hard to beat. It's not five-star accommodation, but it exceeded our expectations. The place has recently changed hands and the team are fairly new. They no longer serve breakfast on site, though there are plenty of nearby options for a good brekkie. Thanks for a great stay!

We had no trouble with the door during our couple of nights, even though I went out and came back a few times. The owner was lovely and friendly, and came when we rang the bell. The room was as expected, and the Valentine's weekend price was a bargain. The shower got nice and hot, though the pressure could use a look. You also get a loyalty card that can earn you a free bottle of wine and a free night's stay after enough visits. I don't know what Debbie is talking about on Expedia. You can't please everyone.

We didn't see anyone in the building from late afternoon until we left the next morning, and there was no customer service at all. No phone number was available if we couldn't get in. After a stroll, we came back to find the external door handle loose and had trouble unlocking it. We were given a key for the room and the outside doors. We booked for one night on 12 Feb 2026, then learned the new owners had taken over a month earlier. Their booking website still showed breakfast included, but the new owners don't serve breakfast. Do not recommend.

The rooms were really clean, breakfast was delicious, and nothing was too much trouble. Pauline and Russell were so welcoming and accommodating. They made our weekend extra special for Charlotte's 21st birthday with the thoughtful surprise of 21 banners and prosecco. Thank you both for an amazing evening and for everything. Xx

The breakfast was delicious, and the beds were especially comfortable. Paulyne and Russell were lovely hosts, always happy to help with anything. The room was clean too. We stayed again and I’d happily repeat every word of my first review. We’ll definitely be back.
