New Osborne Hotel

Mike was helpful and informative when he welcomed us, and the breakfast staff in the morning were polite, chatty and helpful. He even started breakfast early to fit our departure for our son's football match. The B&B was fab, with a very clean, spacious room that fit all four of us. We'd definitely stay again, a well earned five stars from us.

We couldn't sleep because the bed was uncomfortable and there was no soundproofing. The food arrived cold, and when we brought these problems up, the hosts treated us with complete contempt. Go elsewhere.

Mike had saved us a space in the free parking area around the corner when we checked in Friday, which was a godsend. The hotel is in a great spot for the pleasure beach and the south pier, and our room was just what we expected: a bed, bunk beds, a TV and a toilet. We had the place to ourselves for one night, so we got the five star treatment. My two girls could help themselves to cereal and run about. They were fascinated by the bar round the corner and even took turns being the bartender. I wondered if Mike knew, since I wasn't sure he'd have let them. He was very pleasant, and the kids and I enjoyed chatting with him. Sunday was much busier, with the hotel full. Jane must have been there then, and she was very nice too. It was a great visit, and I'd highly recommend staying here. If I come back, I'll stay again, provided Mike still owns the place.

The food was decent and the price felt fair for this little budget hotel. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and helpful, and we had a good stay. Some of the decor could use updating and our shower wasn't great, though parts of the place are still lovely. It's no Ritz, but we'd happily come back to Blackpool and stay here again.
