Talbot House Hotel

The location and view are the only good things about this hotel. We hardly saw the host, and when we did, they weren't talkative. The rooms need a good clean, and the shower smelled like bad sewage. We ate elsewhere, so I can't comment on breakfast.

The bedding was clean and the towels were fresh, but the bedroom itself was dirty. The shower base was awful, full of grime when you stood in it and in need of bleaching. The toilet leaked, and dirty bottles had been left by the previous guest. Breakfast was horrid too. This place needs a serious look.

We only ended up here because another hotel double-booked us and we had no other option. The room was dirty and damp. Disgusting place, and I wouldn't have given it even one star. I'd avoid it at all costs.

When we arrived, the place smelled dirty and damp, and the decorating was shocking, like it had been done by a five-year-old. The stair carpet was patched and covered in what looked like ten years of dust and grime. Upstairs, the carpet seemed never to have been vacuumed. The kettle was filthy and sitting on the floor with dust around it. The tea tray, cups, spoons and milk sachets were dirty too, with what looked like previous guests' drinks still stuck to the cups. There was also an empty filthy coffee jar. Luckily I had a can of pop with me. I found a six-inch screw in the middle of the floor, and the bedding, which was meant to be white, had black marks all over it. Sitting on the bed felt like sitting on the base. The bathroom was tiny and filthy, with an empty smashed beer can behind the toilet. I complained to the landlady straight away. She wouldn't come and see me, but offered either a refund or a clean. We couldn't find another hotel, so we took the clean. When we returned, there was different bedding and the kettle had been cleaned, but the cups and spoons were still filthy and the room still hadn't been vacuumed. We had to grin and bear it. This was the worst hotel in Blackpool and should be avoided at all costs.
