Talk of the Town

I stayed here for a wedding last year and found they'd changed hands this year. It's now called Talk of the Town, with a lighter, more modern reception, entertainment on some evenings, pleasant staff, clean rooms and a nice big cooked breakfast. Good luck to the new owners. 😁

Cherry blossom Hotel has reopened under new ownership as Talk of the town. It's had a soft refurbishment, and the bar now has a new selection of drinks. They don't serve food, and I'm not sure whether they offer breakfast. It has only been open again for a month, so I can't say what sort of entertainment they have. It's worth doing your own research before booking.

I visited with a group, and like many groups, we were a bit disorganised at check-in. The owner was wonderfully patient. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the public areas were attractive, with lots of period features. The Cherry Blossom is a very nice hotel, though the outside could use a bit of touching up. Don't let that put you off. A drink in the bar is highly recommended, but bring cash because there's a £10 minimum for card payments. I'll visit again.

We enjoyed a few beers here before heading for a walk along the seafront, and it was nice to be away from the crowds. The landlady gave us a lovely welcome and had clearly done the place up. She was keen to help, from handing over the TV remote to offering to turn the music down.
