The location’s good, just a short walk to the centre, and most staff were pleasant. Some of the lounge and reception decor was nice, and the bedrooms were a good size. But the hotel feels old and needs repair, and it wasn’t good value for money. We had an all inclusive weekend in January 2026. The food was poor compared with other places nearby. The same limited evening menu was served every night, and extras cost a lot. One couple were charged £36 for extras on top of the £50 they’d paid. Portions were small, and the choices were limited if you didn’t want to pay extra. There was no atmosphere at the entertainment, with only 8-10 people attending each night. It ran until 10pm, though the all inclusive offer was until 12am. The advert suggested entertainment and dancing, but there was no dancing in the carpeted side room. The singers said it was often like that, and the room was too bright. You also had to leave the room to get drinks. The restaurant was damp and dirty in places, with filthy heating vents and windows and peeling, damp paint in the bays. Parking at £14 a day was another expensive extra. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff we met were friendly and professional, and Chris from the decadence was especially pleasant. We spent a night here with our family, two adults and two kids, and enjoyed it. Our family suite was clean and tidy. It did look old fashioned, but that suited the age of the building. We chose the evening meal, which was nicely presented and up to a good standard. It was good value, as was breakfast the next morning. The singers were good enough to enjoy, and the entertainment was in a fabulous room with lots of original features, just off the hotel bar. There’s also a games room beside the entertainment hall, with arcade games and a pool table. You have to pay to use them, but it’s handy when the kids aren’t interested in the singers. I’d stop here again.

This hotel isn’t pet friendly. We stayed at Christmas and had to eat dinner by ourselves in a room because the dog wasn’t allowed in the restaurant. They also said dogs couldn’t be left alone in the room, which meant we were on our own for Christmas Day dinner. The sink kept blocking, the TV didn’t work, and despite paying for a sea view we couldn’t see out of the window. There were holes in the carpet, and the food was cold and awful. They still owe me the £30 dog deposit. I keep being told they’ll get back to me, but they never do. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. They don’t care.

The lounges are roomy and quiet, and it was lovely to have an evening drink looking out over the sea front. The bar was nice too, with cheerful, friendly staff. We stayed three nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Tristan checked us in, very politely and capably, and everything went smoothly. Our twin room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well organised, plentiful and had lots of choice. I’d definitely recommend it. 😁

Tristan at the main desk was especially helpful, and we’ll definitely stay again next time we come. The hotel’s a bit dated, but it’s good value. Our room and bedding were fresh and very clean, with a great sea view. We had room 319, next to the Ambassador suite, overlooking the carpark, so we could easily see our car from the room. Parking is supposed to cost £14, but if you check in as a leisure guest it’s free for 24 hours as long as you spend £20.
