The Southview Hotel

This was my third year staying here for the USDAW conference at Winter Gardens, which is only a short walk away. The couple are great, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and there’s plenty of tea, coffee, and milk at reception if you need to top up. Breakfast has loads of choice too.

The rooms are on the small side, but they’re clean and the beds are comfortable. The hosts made it feel like a real home from home, and breakfast was delicious. Town is only a five-minute walk, so we didn’t need to drive; parking was £5 a night. We’d happily recommend the hotel and will be back.

We liked it enough to add another night to our stay. After travelling from Belfast all day, we arrived late on Friday and check-in was quick and welcoming. Room 14 was clean and spacious, and the bed was especially comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with cereal, a full English, plenty of coffee, and fruit juice. Bridget was a great host and nothing felt like too much trouble. We’d gladly return and recommend the hotel.

The room was small, so bear that in mind, but the beds were comfy and the hosts were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of it. Parking cost £5 per night.
