The Old Rectory

Breakfast was a real highlight, from the beautifully cooked local food to the extra fruit and cereal. The dining room is gorgeous, full of antiques and memorabilia, and even the tableware was exquisite. Helga clearly puts a lot of care into making everything feel top class. We also enjoyed hearing about the house and local history, and having a chat with her. We were in the Polo room, in a converted barn across from the main house, while visiting for a nearby vow renewal. It was spotless, with a clean bathroom and a great shower. The tea, coffee machine, and little biscuits were a welcome treat after our journey. Helga was so lovely and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. We’d certainly stay again if we’re in the area.

Helga made us feel very welcome and was friendly and accommodating throughout. We had the Coach House, a converted stable room separate from the main building. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and both the room and en suite were spotless. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it.

Breakfast was fantastic, with locally sourced food, something my boyfriend and I care about too. We also loved chatting about the history of the Old Rectory and hearing stories about how the family has enjoyed it over the years. The owner greeted us warmly, showed us to the Polo room in the converted coach house, and suggested places to eat that evening. I’m sorry, I can’t remember her name. The room was beautiful, the bed mega comfortable, and everything was spotless. We appreciated the coffee machine, kettle, and little tea and biscuit treats. It made for a perfect weekend break, and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Helga was so kind and thoughtful about our veganism. She arranged a full vegan English breakfast and gave us really good recommendations for the area. The bedroom was nicely decorated and comfortable. We had a lovely stay at the Old Rectory, and will definitely return when we’re in Dover.
