Getting into the building was easy, and it felt secure. Management were helpful and available by phone. The apartment itself was unreal, with loads of space. The living room was beautifully done and comfortable, the bedroom was huge with a really comfortable bed, and the bathroom was clean with a good-sized shower.
The location is good and the flat has potential, but the lack of upkeep is obvious. We paid 269 EUR per night, including an 80€ cleaning fee, and got an apartment with stains on the walls and carpets. The window beside the bed wouldn’t shut fully, and people smoke on the stairs outside the upstairs apartments, which wasn’t pleasant to wake up to. The bathroom door also wouldn’t close properly, so there’s little privacy. If that matters to you, this place may not suit you. The front door was extremely hard to open. Staff told me to use more force, and I cut and bruised my fingers trying. This had apparently come up in earlier reviews, but management didn’t seem to care and just told me to try harder. The service team were understanding, though they didn’t seem able to do much. For all these problems, the apartment felt overpriced. It’s a shame, but it comes across as a cash grab by the owners. I’d take my chances somewhere else.
I was looking forward to staying here and would have liked to leave a positive review. We booked through Booking.com, and everything was going smoothly until the owner company messaged us. I think it’s called Joicy. They asked us either to cancel or move to another place they manage, which was noticeably lower quality. They blamed an overbooking generated by their “system,” though the room, or other rooms at the same location, still appeared available on Booking.com. We went back and forth with staff and kept saying we didn’t want to cancel or relocate. Eventually they agreed to cancel through Booking.com themselves, and we accepted because we didn’t want to keep arguing. We’ll get a full refund, which is the bare minimum given that we didn’t want to change accommodation. Since the room remained listed as available, I’m not convinced there really was an overbooking, at least not on Booking.com.
I booked for a business trip and have been here for two nights now. There’s been no hot water since I arrived, and I can’t get the heating to change. The room stays very cold, below 17 degrees, and after asking them to fix it, I’m still unable to warm up or wash properly. The heating system doesn’t respond to any of my commands. I travel all the time, and this is the first time I’ve had no hot water for a shower and a room this cold.
The apartment itself was nicely equipped, with a lovely view and a great location. But a warning about the keyless entry: it needs an internet connection. We were travelling on holiday without a data plan, and our stay could have turned into a disaster if we hadn’t been lucky enough to get a unit at the front, where the WiFi just barely reached the street. If we’d known about that requirement, we wouldn’t have booked it.
