Cate made us feel welcome and gave us a helpful tour of the map, pointing out places to eat, shop, and visit. We really appreciated the welcome food and drinks: bread, butter, milk, juice, tea, coffee, and cookies. The apartment itself was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with a lovely bed and soft, fluffy towels. We took a taxi from Edinburgh airport. Cate's directions were so good that the driver could drop us right by the steps to the door. The apartment is just a few minutes from Waverley station, though you have several steep flights of steps to climb. Next time we'd probably take the airport bus. The location is hard to beat, just a few meters from The Royal Mile.

I've lived here since September and haven't had any accommodation problems. The flat is cosy and right in the city centre, near the Royal Mile and the university. It can get noisy at weekends, but the area feels really safe.
