For the Fringe, it’s hard to find cheaper accommodation, and this place was OK for the money: basic, clean rooms in a good location. We had no hot water or toilet roll on our first night, though, and the soundproofing is poor. Creaky floors and construction next door starting before 7am made it noisy. We’d requested a ground-floor room months in advance but didn’t get one.

The rooms are simple but clean and have what you need. The showers and kitchen were also very good and clean. For the price, having somewhere fairly central in Edinburgh is great value. I’d recommend it.

It’s actually a student residence, right in the heart of Edinburgh, so the location is very convenient. Reception is open around the clock if you need information or help. The rooms and beds were fairly clean, but really tiny.

An inexpensive place to stay in Edinburgh, though it could be cleaner. Even for a student residence, I think cleanliness could be improved when it’s being used by tourists.

Great location, but that’s about it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the kitchen had items that had been out of date for weeks.
