The Claremont Hotel

Coming back after busy days to a peaceful, warm house made it easy to unwind with tea, a book and the fire. As a solo traveler, I felt completely comfortable at Crescent House, and it really felt like home. Paul and Mike were thoughtful about recommending restaurants and walking routes, and breakfast each morning was a highlight, with lots of local food and good conversation. My room was spotless and quiet, with lovely city views. After a long day of travel, they welcomed me with hot coffee and a mince pie. They made my first solo trip to Scotland so special and really went above and beyond. I’d happily stay again.

Waking up to that spectacular view over Edinburgh was a highlight, and breakfast was delicious before heading out to explore. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and there are several cozy places around Crescent House to relax beyond the suite. Michael and Paul were warm and welcoming, attentive without overdoing it, and gave us useful tips based on what we wanted to do in Scotland. I’ve just got home and am already dreaming about my next visit. Thank you, Crescent House. I’ll be back!

Breakfast was such a treat. Walking down to the big kitchen and dining room, we were met by a calm atmosphere and the smell of lovely food. We stayed three nights in a spacious, very clean room. From the moment we rang the bell at Crescent House, Paul and Mike made us feel welcome. They clearly put a lot of care into making guests feel at home and enjoy Edinburgh and Scotland. Paul helped us work out what to see and do, and both he and Michael went above and beyond. We were thoroughly delighted with our stay.

We were jetlagged at the start of a long trip, and Crescent House was a lovely place to settle in and get a local feel for the area. The hosts, Paul and Michael, welcomed us right away and looked after us so well. The house is beautiful, comfortable and well equipped, with original art by one of the owners throughout that gives it a personal feel. Fantastic hosts and a caring experience. Highly recommend.
