Davie, the concierge, really stood out. He showed us to our room, gave us a tour of the rooftop garden, and pointed out nearby historic spots. He also introduced us to Liana Moran's artwork at the hotel. We liked it so much that we bought a piece from a gallery on the Royal Mile, an easy walk away. The Glass House is right in the city centre, across from John Lewis Edinburgh and within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill, shops, and plenty of restaurants. We had a fantastic dinner at The Dome on George Street. The staff were excellent throughout. Our room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed, luxurious linens and pillows, and an impressive bathroom with first-class fittings and a heated floor we especially enjoyed. We'd gladly stay at the Glass House again and recommend it to visitors to Edinburgh.

We stayed two nights at The Glasshouse last week. The location is great, and the staff were friendly. The two kilted concierge men were especially helpful and knew their stuff. The hotel feels worn and tired now. We've stayed at Bonvoy properties all over, and this one felt like three stars at best, mostly on account of the location. It may have been a five-star hotel years ago, but it badly needs a major renovation. I'd recommend staying somewhere else.

The apartment-style efficiencies were just what we wanted, and our room was very clean. Service was very good across the front customer service counter, restaurant, and housekeeping. The location is ideal if you want to be in the heart of Old Town. We walked everywhere, and the train station was only a 5-10 minute walk away. I've stayed at Marriott properties all over the world, and this hotel ranks very high for me. I can't say enough good things about it.

We'd definitely come back. The room was spacious and clean, breakfast was delicious, and the service was really attentive. It's in a fantastic spot right in the heart of the city. Our balcony was a bit dirty after the rain, though.

The staff made me feel welcome as a solo traveller from the moment I arrived. At check-in, the receptionist explained the hotel's charges and policies, showed me where my room was, and told me where breakfast would be. The concierge brought a glass of Prosecco after I checked in, carried my bags to the third floor, and chatted with me about my visit and whether I needed help arranging anything. Staff later pointed me towards transport options and local places, including a shopping centre, theatre, and zoo. My room was clean and nicely presented, with crisp white linen, towels, branded toiletries, and a mini fridge. Everyone acknowledged me when passing or when I asked for help. The Snug is lovely, with its Firepit, and the Brasserie is well presented for breakfast. There was a fresh, generous continental selection. I didn't choose the cooked breakfast, but it looked fresh and had a good range of items. The rooftop garden is a real jewel. I was only there for one evening, which was too short, and I'll be back. After I checked out, the staff kept my bags while I went shopping, then looked after them again while I visited the zoo for the Lantern Trail.
