Campfield House Bed & Breakfast

The owner was kind and helpful, and the views are hard to beat, especially in warmer weather. The rooms are very small, though, and only some have been renovated. For the size and condition of ours, the price felt quite high, even if those views may make it worthwhile in the better seasons.

We spent three nights in a twin room while exploring Glencoe and the northern parts of Fort William. It was cozy and clean, and although the bathroom was very small, it worked fine. The window looked onto the parking lot and street, but it shut out the noise well, so we weren’t disturbed. We also had no trouble with the water and drank it daily. It tasted perfectly fine, like tap water elsewhere in Scotland. The garden is well cared for, with a stunning loch view. We watched the sunset there every evening. The owners seemed a little reserved, but they were kind. The beds were the letdown: they’re small, and the mattresses felt worn. Breakfast was made with care, though it was a bit too oily and had more meat than we personally wanted. It’s a decent, affordable place just south of Fort William. My brother and I were happy with the stay overall.

The Green Room faced a fairly busy road, but traffic didn’t disturb our sleep. We found the beds fine, and breakfast the next morning was good. Both the room and bathroom were clean and, though not very large, suited us for a night during our Scotland tour. We were greeted very warmly, and the B&B sits beside Loch Linnhe on the other side. We’d happily recommend it.

Our room faced the road, but traffic noise wasn’t an issue. Leaving the driveway took a little care because the road was busy, though we managed without much trouble. The host was easygoing and unobtrusive, the room comfortable, and breakfast tasty enough to set us up for the day.
