UHI Fort William – Campus Accommodation

Kensh, the receptionist, concierge and host, really made my four night stay. He went out of his way to help me and the other guests, and his service was consistently 10/10. He was attentive and professional, and the warmth and care he showed everyone made the experience memorable. I’m extremely happy with my stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Williams. It’s welcoming, and the hospitality was outstanding.

We knew this was student accommodation and didn’t expect anything fancy, but after one night we were really disappointed. The room seemed barely cleaned, if at all. There was hair in the shower and on the bed, crumbs in the kitchen, a dirty sponge and a filthy bin. The shower was horrible to use, hard to turn on, and the water switched between burning hot and ice cold. The room was noisy, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. I really can’t recommend staying here.

The view from the window was the one good part, and the bus stand was close by. Everything else made for a bad stay. The thermostat was at 27°C and burning us, then kept rising no matter how low we set it. Staff didn’t know how to reset it and said they’d send someone in the morning, but no one came. The room hadn’t been properly cleaned, with hair and rubbish left by the previous owners still there. The bathroom drain was clogged too, so water pooled around our feet in the shower.

The station is just a five-minute walk away, and the town is a short stroll further on through the subway. The room was clean and the kitchen had good equipment, though you'll need to bring your own food and drinks. Entry is by key card, and helpful, friendly staff are available on call.
