The shower was the one part I wasn’t comfortable with. The temperature was fine, but it could have had more water pressure. The room also had a colour TV that we could connect a laptop to, so we watched a film in the evening. We spent four nights at Alba Lodge and had a really nice stay. It’s an old place, but it was clean, the staff were kind and helpful, and the room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was good, and you could ask for more if you needed it. The centre of Glasgow was a 10-15 minute walk away. I’d definitely stay again.

The staff were nice, but they gave my room number to a stranger without asking me and let him walk up to knock on my door in the middle of the night. The hallway did have a creepy, cool look straight out of The Shining, and the location was nice. The rooms were cheap, too, but I wouldn’t stay here again. My room felt like a modern prison cell, with barely enough space for a single bed and a sink jutting out of the wall. The carpet stayed inexplicably wet for the whole two days I was there, the bed wasn’t very comfortable, and the room smelled of nasty body odor.

Nice TV, comfy beds and a good breakfast. It’s close to town, though some rooms might not have windows, so they may not suit someone who’s claustrophobic. :)

The staff were friendly and professional. There’s a comfortable bed, large windows you can adjust, lots of TV channels, and breakfast is free.
