Late check-in for our large group was handled by a warm, professional concierge who helped us find our room numbers and floor, and sent us off with a cheerful “have a lovely stay.” The corridors were easy to navigate, pleasantly fragrant and so quiet they felt almost meditative. Our rooms were cleaner than a choirboy's chin, and the car park view gave us a reassuring eye on where we'd left our vehicles. The vending machine was briefly out of order, though perhaps its confectionery selection wasn't doing anyone's health any favours anyway. This Travelodge sits in historic Newport, with access to the city centre and main transport links, in the heart of the Cymru countryside. Despite the negative, frankly rather naive reviews, our stay was a delight. There was very little to fault, and this place exceeded our expectations. Book a Travelodge with the right expectations and you should get more than adequate service here, even for a One Day Booking. Highly recommended, 15/5 stars! 🌟
