I slept well here, and the bed was fine. The room was clean enough and even had a balcony. The soundproofing isn't great, though it was quiet at night. Staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. The location is handy for walking to most places in Hastings. The infrastructure is a bit rusty, but given the price compared with other hotels, I was happy with what I got.

The location is amazing, and the staff were friendly. They also let me leave my bags all day before I caught a train home after a long walk. But I'm really unhappy about how my stay went. I booked a one-night single sea-view room to get some peace away from noisy London neighbours. The window was so clouded with condensation I could barely see out, so reception gladly moved me. I didn't mind which room, and they upgraded me, but it came at a cost: the couple next door to my gorgeous first-floor double with a balcony smoked continuously, filling my room with smoke, and talked loudly until the small hours. I'm a non-smoker. The main window wouldn't open, and the balcony door was not very secure. When I raised it at checkout, reception said they knew the couple as repeat offenders and had since blocked them from booking again. The hotel was quiet on a Sunday in November, so why put me next to guests other people had complained about? That was a huge oversight.

We only stayed one night, but we're definitely coming back. The room was spacious, lovely and clean when we arrived, with an amazing sea view. The beds were comfortable, and the staff were warm and welcoming. I was really surprised by how good this hotel was.

The rooms were spacious and very clean, with great views. The owners and staff were so friendly, and the welcome and customer service were brilliant. Highly recommend, it was perfect all round.

The sea views were great, and it was lovely hearing the waves at night. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bath was a nice deep one. There was a fan, so the room stayed cool enough. Still, I wouldn't stay again. I knew there was no lift, so be aware if stairs are a problem: the friendly person checking me in even helped carry my heavy bags up three flights after a long day. In my narrow, long single room, only two of the six bulbs worked, the TV was tiny, and there was barely any furniture beyond a bed, clothes rack, dressing table and chair. The carpet felt damp under bare feet; the bath panel rattled in the wind. The bathroom door didn't shut properly, the room door looked as if someone had tried to force it before, and its loose, insecure lock had me wedging a chair under the handle. The bed was very narrow and uncomfortable, like a slab, and the pillows were just as bad. There was a lot of banging during the night, maybe doors. Water stains covered the walls and ceilings, and the whole place felt badly run down and neglected. Some of these problems could be fixed easily.
