Susan and Janice, thank you! The lovely scenery and the visiting swifts made this feel like a five-star stay to me, even though it’s classed as three stars. Susan, who runs the B&B, was warm, chatty and full of information from the start. My twin room was on the first floor and spotless, with comfy beds, beautiful linen and great bathroom towels. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room, and Arran Aromatics toiletries that smelled amazing. The tartan carpets in the halls and on the landings were thick and lovely. On the landing, I found extra milk tubs, tea bags and coffee, just the kind of thing I appreciate. There was plenty of loo roll too. The TV had different channels from the usual ones, but I bet anyone could find something to watch. Breakfast was great, with cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and a cooked dish of your choice, from scrambled eggs with smoked salmon to a vegetarian breakfast. The percolator coffee was really good, and the pot of tea was great. The guest lounge has big comfy sofas and books. I use a stick and managed the stairs, but I’m not sure what the rooms are like for people with limited mobility.

We got a warm welcome, and the room was a good size with a comfortable bed and fantastic views. Breakfast was amazing, and the friendly service made the stay all the better. The Grennan suited our trip well: it’s about a 20-minute drive from the ferry and within walking distance of restaurants. Thank you!

We stayed for two nights for a wedding, and they were incredibly accommodating. They moved us to a larger room so my partner’s makeup artist could fit, and arranged taxis to the venue. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and breakfast was tremendous. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the greanan to anyone visiting the island.

This was our third stay at the Greannan Bed & Breakfast, and it was fantastic again. The room and en suite were clean, the welcome was warm and everyone was helpful. We loved the views and the breakfast had an amazing amount of choice for a B&B. We’re looking forward to coming back in a few weeks for a birthday celebration. Thank you!

The proprietor even offered to drive us to the start of our next hike, which saved precious time on a busy day of exploring. After a fantastic breakfast, that was a lovely bit of help from our welcoming hosts. My friend from Glasgow and I spent a quick weekend on Arran and found a Saturday night room at the Greannan. It was clean and cozy, with elegant furnishings and tasteful decor. The scenery around the B&B was breathtaking. We walked to a really fun bar and an amazing artisanal restaurant that used locally sourced ingredients. We had a brilliant weekend and would love to return.
