Good 👍
Nice.
The apartment was comfortable and pleasant, with everything needed to feel at home. The building is old, three storeys high, but well maintained. Its interior structure is wooden, so the floorboards creak as you walk. Still, residents, whether permanent or occasional, are asked to respect the quiet hours, and people do, which made for deeply restful nights. Deer Park Golf & Country Club in Livingstone, where the development is, is a very pleasant area with lots of greenery and low population density. It consists of detached houses on generous plots. There are some services nearby, including restaurants, supermarkets, a golf course, a bowling alley, among others. I gave the location four stars only because the development is about 20/30 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh. But I wouldn’t trade the comfort and peace for being closer to the city centre. I recommend it!
This is an ideal base for day trips to Edinburgh by train, about 25 minutes away, and parking at the station in Livingstone (North) is free with no parking problems. Return tickets outside peak times cost around £6-7. The apartment is very luxurious and has everything you need. The kitchen is really well equipped, though the pans seemed a bit small by Dutch standards.
