At breakfast there's plenty to choose from, along with a daily special, and Laura really knows Strontian and Ardnamurchan. She makes guests feel at home and helps them enjoy their stay. We always come back to Otterburn Bed and Breakfast, where Laura gives you a warm, friendly welcome. The Otter and Pine Marten rooms have beautiful loch views, and they're clean and comfortable, with hot drinks and a cake or biscuit always there to enjoy. There are lots of places to explore nearby, from lochs, woodlands and mountains to great walks, historic sites, castles and white beaches. You can even drive through an ancient volcano. The village is very close, with local restaurants, grocery stores, a pottery and a tourist centre. Come across the Corran Ferry to explore Ardnamurchan. There are also ferry links for a day trip to the Isle of Mull. You'll find friendly people and plenty of places to eat, including spots right beside a loch. Otters, deer, mountain goats and sea eagles are all possible to see. Enjoy your stay, and come again.

Laura's tips and recommendations made our stay even better. The breakfasts were just right, the room was spotless, and we couldn't have asked for more. We've stayed in plenty of B&Bs over the years, and Otterburn is the best. We'll definitely be back.

We had a lovely four nights at Otterburn. The room looked out over the loch, and the breakfast and sitting room had the same wonderful view. Everything was clean and cosy, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Laura was thoughtful and helpful, even making me a delicious quiche, and I could charge my e-bike easily in the garage. There’s plenty to explore around Strontian, including Ariundle Forest, with its cosy tearoom, and the otterhide, so I’d suggest staying at least a couple of nights.

The setting is stunning, and breakfast came with a different special each day. The host was warm and helpful, and little touches like the milk and cake made us feel especially welcome. Otterburn has its own character, unlike so many generic B&Bs. We’ll leave the other stand-out details for you to discover.

I turned up without a booking while on a cycle tour, and they welcomed me and got a room ready. It was spotless and everything worked. I was charged the usual rate, then given a discount for leaving before breakfast, though they still put together a tray with cookies, ground coffee and a percolator. Such a treat. I can see why it gets so many five-star reviews, I’d give it six.
