Hyde Park Suites - Apartments

The person cleaning the room during the last three days of my stay was rude and made me feel like I was in her own home. The service, cleanliness, and price weren't satisfactory, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. At check-in, the cleaners hadn't finished, so I waited half an hour. Since check-in isn't flexible and they don't send the key card access details before 2 pm, I expected the room to be ready and clean when I arrived. Even after the wait it wasn't properly cleaned: surfaces were dusty, a towel from the previous guest was behind the door, kitchen rubbish was left when the bathroom rubbish was taken, and I was given dirty, unwashed towels.

Being close to Hyde Park and public transport makes Hyde Park Serviced Apartments handy for tourists, and the London location is a prime one. The apartments are modern, furnished well, and have the essentials. Some guests have mentioned occasional noise and that certain units feel a bit cramped.

The basement room was right by the stairs, so I could hear everything outside. People talking by the window and smoke smells also made their way in. There was a lot of debris in the corridor when we arrived, though it was cleared the next day. Check-in was hard to figure out. The room smelled clean when we got there, and it was cleaned during our Thursday-to-Sunday stay. Staff were great to communicate with. Hyde Park right outside was a big plus, two tube stations were about a five-minute walk away, and Oxford Street was around 15-20 minutes on foot. I'd look at this place again next time I'm in London, but I'd ask for a first- or second-floor room 🤭

For London, this was excellent value. The place was clean and convenient, and much bigger and more comfortable than some pricier places I've stayed. I was there for one night in August 2019, and I'd stay again. Paddington is walkable, too. A few things to know: check-in is at another building, about a ten-minute walk away, and it's open until 11 pm. Our apartment had no cooker, though the microwave worked fine. And there will be road noise in London. Bin or recycling day could wake you, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
