The tube station is right behind the hotel, and the neighborhood has plenty to do, with bars, restaurants, and other entertainment nearby. The Natural History Museum is a 15-minute walk away, and 24-hour check-in made our 3 a.m. arrival easy. I’d definitely stay again. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the in-house pastries and croissants. They came straight from the oven, and the staff kept topping up the baskets. The continental spread also had toast, hard-boiled eggs, butter, jams, honey, yogurt, juices, milk, a coffee machine with a choice of coffees, and cold cuts. The staff were incredibly friendly, particularly at breakfast. The hotel had the feel of a typical British house, with carpet and a woody smell in the hallways. Our room had a pitched roof, but even though we’re both about six feet tall, we found it and the bed comfortable. We both fit, despite a review I’d read saying it wasn’t suitable for tall people. The bathroom was small, but clean and comfortable.
