Honestly, it’s much better than what I’d read online. The rooms and white bedspreads are clean, and it’s a comfortable place for the price. The new manager is a very polite, smiley guy. It’s really not bad at all.

The room and bathroom were so filthy and unhygienic that we didn’t even dare use the bathroom. We’d booked two nights, but stayed only one because we were refunded for the second night, then got out as soon as we could the next morning. We felt we were sleeping in unsanitary conditions. As we arrived, there was a man smoking outside the entrance. To our surprise, he was the receptionist. He let us in, and the whole building smelled strongly of weed. When he showed us around, everything was in a deplorable state, including the disgusting bathroom and a bed in terrible condition. We contacted Hotels.com right away for help leaving. After they informed the receptionist about the problem, he came to our door, banged on it violently, and shouted for us to open up. We were terrified, especially after reading reviews saying he was difficult to deal with and often seemed under the influence of drugs. He then made us go to the bathroom to show him our complaint, shouting and speaking in a threatening tone throughout.

I booked this cheap hotel when I went to Manchester for the City v Sunderland game. I checked in at 18.00 after the game, then drove back to Scotland around 8pm, just two hours later. This place is disgusting. Do not book.

What a day. I had a terrible experience here. This is a hostel, not a hotel, guys, please. At check-in, a tall Black man with his hair braided back came to the door and first told me I was checking in too late. He followed me to the room. When I said it smelled, he said it was because the people who’d left had been there too long. I asked if I could have a better room, and he got aggressive, saying he didn’t have time for this and that I could leave but wouldn’t get a refund. I said I’d call the police, and then he stopped and told me to leave the room. I ended up staying one night instead of two, and got no refund. Please don’t even think of booking a night there. I’ll be sharing a photo of the room.
