Primrose Cottage

The kitchen is small but really well stocked, and we enjoyed the board games. Our six-month-old son came along for five days of exploring the Jurassic Coast. The Sky TV cut out now and then, though it didn’t cause us any real trouble. The bed was comfy, and a travel cot was there if we’d needed it. We also had fun with the garden swing. It’s a peaceful spot in the Dorset wilderness, with Dorchester, Poole, Bournemouth, Wareham and Weymouth all well placed for visits. We had a great time and would happily come back, especially in winter with the log burner.

There are fresh eggs from the farm along the lane, and plenty of nearby places to explore, from vineyards to the grave of TE Lawrence and Beaulieu, depending on how far you fancy driving. Dorchester and the coast are also close. The cottage is petite, beautifully restored and kept, and very welcoming to dogs. The hosts are caring, with thoughtful touches for guests. Recommended.

A clean, lovely place with everything provided, including tea, coffee and milk. It’s well placed for the area’s history and scenery, and we’ll recommend it to friends.
