The rooms were kept clean and comfortable, and the location is easy to get around from. The landlord is dependable and friendly, with excellent service. I'd happily recommend it.

I had a terrible stay. There was a strong weed smell as soon as I entered, and nobody was at reception, so I had to wait for someone to come and show me the room. The photos don't match what you actually get. The owner was very rude when I asked about parking, saying there wasn't any even though the website advertises it. The shower had lots of limescale, the beds were uncomfortable, and the apartments clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while. Some of the amenities shown in the pictures, like a coffee machine or blender, weren't there. It was so noisy I couldn't get a good night's sleep. I'd have been better off booking Premier Inn on Foxs St, the service there is much better.

I couldn't check in because the housekeeper wasn't available, even though round-the-clock availability was a key selling point. The service and experience were awful, and I wouldn't recommend it. Other places at a similar price offer much better service.

We stayed two nights in Preston for a wedding, in a deluxe apartment. The place is a short, easy five-minute walk from the train station, and the price and location were good. Some of the concerns in other reviews didn't really make sense to me, since this isn't a hotel. The building is a bit old and musty, and the towels aren't especially soft, but those things didn't bother me much. There were some good points: the bathroom was nice and had a bidet, the bed was really comfortable, the apartment was spacious compared with other places we stayed in the UK, and the washer worked well. Check-in went smoothly after I WhatsApped the number with our arrival time. Bring earplugs if outside noise keeps you awake, and be aware there's no AC for summer. The bigger issue was cleanliness. It wasn't dirty, but there was dust, a stray hair and a cobweb, the sort of thing you might overlook at home but feels unpleasant when it's left by previous guests. There was also food in a cabinet that was going off. Since it's an apartment rather than a hotel, the cleaning staff might need to look out for those things hotel staff handle as standard. It's a useful, inexpensive place in a convenient spot, but I'd think about whether the cleanliness is up to your standards for the price. I'd rate it around 3 or 3.5, but gave it a 4 so I wouldn't push it further down the algorithm.

The whole stay had a wonderfully minimalist feel. My room had one towel, a tiny shower and sink, and a bed with scars along its sides that looked like it had seen a few battles in the last century. The room itself was small enough to feel like an airplane baggage hold. The wardrobe came with spare hanger pieces that you could put together into another hanger, and the cleaning team had thoughtfully left potato chips on the shelf in case I got hungry. The color TV was certainly colorful. To check in, I had to press the entrance button, whose design had a special commitment to safety. I arrived to find the room clean and comfortable, and no employee ever disturbed me in person, though staff were available virtually. A memorable taste of authentic British hospitality and comfort!
