The Singlecote Hotel

My single room was spotless, comfortable and had everything I needed, with a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and plenty of storage. It really felt like a home from home. The location is ideal for the shops and beach, and breakfast was delicious with loads of choice. They assign tables by room, which worked well. There are emergency toiletries too, like a sewing kit, toothbrush and sun cream, plus little chocolates in the room and on the breakfast table. Thanks for being such a fabulous host and making me feel so welcome, and for going above and beyond. I'll definitely be back soon.

The owners were friendly and went above and beyond, and everyone felt included. The room was beautifully presented, with fresh, clean bedlinen, lovely decor and incredibly comfortable beds. The food was great and there was plenty for all of us. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we'll be back.

We had a great few days in the family room with my two girls. It had two double bunk beds and a double bed, all really comfortable, and was nicely decorated with lots of Easter touches. The little extras for the girls in the dining room, Easter chocolates and games, were lovely. Breakfast was listed as continental but also had hot options like beans, sausage, tinned tomatoes and boiled egg, along with plenty of croissants, cereal, bread, yoghurts and flapjacks. More than enough. The room fridge was handy, already stocked with cold water, and there was a kettle, cups, tea, coffee and even washing-up liquid. Close to the beach and shops, and such good value for the price.

The main problem was how the owner treated me. She made several openly homophobic, inappropriate and offensive remarks, which left me feeling unwelcome and unsafe. He was also openly smoking weed on the premises, making the atmosphere feel even less professional. The hotel itself was already below standard, with dirty rooms, uncomfortable beds and a lingering smell of smoke. This is about basic respect and decency as well as poor service. I'd strongly suggest finding somewhere else if a safe, inclusive environment matters to you.
