Dave made arriving on a late ferry easy. He was very communicative beforehand and gave us clear directions, which we needed because our GPS kept sending us to the wrong street. He also shared lots of useful ideas for places to eat and things to do. Harbour Cottage is spacious, comfortable and well equipped, with a kitchen that has everything you need, two lovely upstairs bedrooms, and a ground-floor bathroom and shower. It's just across from the ferry but very quiet, and everything in Stromness is within walking distance. Coffee, tea and biscuits were waiting in the kitchen, and there's a dedicated parking spot right by the door. We'd happily stay again.

This was our third time here, and we love both Stromness and the cottage. It's a lovely, comfortable place in a handy location very close to the ferry terminal. David, the owner, is very helpful. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

The cottage is compact, welcoming and very handy for the ferry, yet it was quiet. It was ready for us with music on, lights lit and a fire effect going. The rooms and sitting room sofas were comfortable, and everything was nicely appointed. The kitchen has a washer dryer, and there are all the modern conveniences, including Wi-Fi and a great television, though we don't watch much TV. My friend booked and had no trouble reaching the owner by email; he replied promptly. We could easily walk to the Ferry Inn, Co-op, Hamnavoe restaurant, Julia's Café, Pier Arts Centre and the museum. Would recommend it 100%.

After a long drive, it was lovely to arrive and put our feet up. We've just got here and already love it, and we're looking forward to the next few days.
