The house sits in lovely surroundings, and Lesley and Leo made us feel very welcome. Our room was warm, clean, and had everything we needed. Leo's breakfast was a ten out of ten. I'd rate this B&B very highly.

We came to the Firs in September as a treat, but were surprised that breakfast cost £7 per person, even for just a bowl of cereal. Then the plastic or rubber mattress cover left us soaking with sweat overnight. The mattress was much too soft as well. The manager offered to change it, but we'd already decided we couldn't stay another night.

The welcome was wonderful, and breakfast was amazing. The people are lovely and make you feel at home, and they go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. We had a brilliant time and will definitely come back. Thanks, Lesley and Leo. X

We stayed in one of their static caravans while homeless, and although we were grateful to have somewhere to stay, the landlords were far too involved in our comings and goings. They'd knock if a car was parked in the B&B lot to ask who it belonged to, and after we'd been out they'd soon ask whether we'd had visitors. We had to tell them well ahead of time if anyone was coming, and they closely inspected vehicles. It felt nosy, and there was no privacy. The cooker was thick with dirt, and the caravans were quite dirty, with 80s-style decor. The landlord would also wait on the neighbour's doorstep for him to return, which seemed rude. The heating got too hot too quickly. They even reacted badly when we said we'd been rehoused, because nobody else had told them.

A filthy dump of a place, and the owners know it. There isn't even a bathroom mirror. I left it cleaner than it should have been, yet the landlord is ripping people off. It's a joke to think he has worked in hospitality. Another thing dragging down living standards in the UK.
