We booked eight rooms for four nights with friends and family, and everyone had a great time. The kids especially loved the grass area, and we could relax knowing they were safe. The terrace and views are lovely, too. During the hot weather, the fans in the clean, comfortable rooms were much appreciated. There was everything we needed, and breakfast was delicious with lots of choice, kept well stocked by the staff. The outside pool at the sister hotel across the road was a real highlight for the kids. We spent two afternoons there. Getting into central Torquay was easy: buses stopped right outside every 10-15 minutes, and the ride took about five minutes. We enjoyed the scenic walk back in the evenings, which took us around half an hour. A big thank you to all the staff for being so welcoming and helpful. Claire, Fiona, Sophie and Kerry at reception were wonderful, if I’ve remembered the names right. The two gentlemen were chatty and helped with our luggage and anything else we needed. The bar team were great, as were the breakfast staff, including Ann Marie, Olga and Rhys. I’m sorry I didn’t get the other two ladies’ names. You all deserve medals. We’d love to return.

The food was excellent, the staff were lovely, and the terrace is iconic, with stunning views. The rooms, though, are very small and extremely old. There was no fridge, which is a first for me in a hotel. I’m fine with the place being pet friendly, but our room had stains from a dog spraying on the bed wedges, and a strong smell. It’s okay if you only need somewhere to sleep and aren’t expecting much.

The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Our room was beautifully serviced each day, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar is open around the clock for hotel guests who enjoy a nightcap. The seafront views are absolutely stunning, and the location in Torquay is fantastic. I’d love to book a stay at LIVERMEAD CLIFF HOTEL again in the future.

I’ve stayed here a few times and have always enjoyed the comfortable hotel, the excellent bar food and the stunning views. What’s changed is the £12-a-night parking fee for people booking through sites like Booking.com. It added £36 to my stay, and the charge is fairly new. I’d find it easier to accept if it guaranteed a parking space, but when the hotel is full there might not be one available. I’m a state pensioner with limited savings, and Booking.com’s Genus reward system used to make a few days in a decent hotel affordable. With these new charges, I probably won’t be able to return to one of my favourite hotels.

My daughter and son-in-law’s wedding has left us with loads of fantastic memories. Thank you for making their day so special. The staff and food were lovely, and the location was amazing.
