Exton House

It’s a good 15-minute walk at pace to central Torquay, along long roads through the abbey grounds, then along the seafront past the theatre and harbour. The hosts at Exton House were excellent. We got a lovely welcome with tea and orange juice, everything was explained, and breakfast times were arranged. The guesthouse was very clean, and there was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. If anything ran out or was used, all we had to do was ask and it was quickly replaced. They made us feel at ease, and we might even be introduced to the local resident gecko, safely housed away. I really enjoyed my stay and the breakfast. There’s an on-site bar, but my only quibble is that I thought the prices were steep for what it was. We did enjoy the bar and had a good conversation with the hosts. I’d happily recommend Exton House.

The breakfasts were amazing, and Julie and John were the most welcoming hosts I’ve come across. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was immaculate, with plenty of towels, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. I’ll definitely return for another weekend break.

The rooms are clean and homely, and breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Julie and John are incredibly kind, accommodating hosts, and a great laugh too. They’ll make you want to come back. I’ll definitely return!

The hosts were lovely, friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and things to do. Our room was clean and warm, and breakfast was lovely, with a variety of food on offer. It’s a 10-minute walk to the harbour, or taxis are readily available for under a fiver. I’ll definitely book here again.
