The new balcony is a lovely place to sit, and there’s also a patio with garden furniture and a parasol for sunny days. Inside, the open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge space is well equipped for self-catering, with lovely views over St Mawes from upstairs. We’ve stayed here twice now. It’s so peaceful, and we only wish we could live here.
We really enjoy staying here, so it’s a shame we won’t be back. The £300 security deposit still hadn’t been returned five days after our stay, and cottages.com (Portscatho Holidays) said it could take up to 14 days. The place itself has improved since our last visit: the French windows and proper balcony are a big improvement on the Juliet window, and we preferred the rearranged layout. The shower is small, and on the first night there was a smell in the bedroom until it had been used. There are also a lot of stairs, so it wouldn’t suit someone with mobility problems.
The sea views were lovely, and it was fun watching the Falmouth Ferry come and go through the day. This delightful cottage is right in the centre of St Mawes, with parking and WiFi. The Rising Sun pub is only a two-minute walk away.
The ocean looks beautiful from this lovely apartment.
