A proper, clean and friendly local boozer with good prices, well away from those overpriced hipster drug dens. There’s plenty of seating, TVs, and a games room with pool and darts. Good range of real ales, plus smoked cheeses available.

The Summer Lightning had loads of flavour. This is a great real ale pub, and the staff were friendly and really helpful.

The location is the standout, right in the middle of everything. Linda and Alan were great and helped us with parking permits and tips on where to go. We stayed four nights, although it should have been five because we got the arrival day wrong 😂 The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and having full Sky TV with sports and movies was great. It was a little warm, with some noise from outside and very patchy WiFi in room number 4, but otherwise no complaints. We’d stay again without hesitation.

Friendly pub with sports on TV and darts to play. Drinks cost less than at similar places nearby.

Great little pub tucked down a back street, good for a quiet pint if you don’t mind rock music in the background. The barman was friendly, the locals were chatty, and the Entire stout was delicious and dark. Fantabulous.
