The people at The Samling are what make it so special. Rebecca and Andrew went out of their way to give us the warmest welcome and make sure we had a relaxing stay, in such a friendly way. The hotel is immaculate, with beautiful spacious rooms and everything so well maintained. The restaurant looks out over the lake, rolling countryside and wonderfully colourful hotel grounds. The private hot tub is a real treat, wonderfully bubbly with beautiful lake views, and you can order drinks to it too. We've now visited twice, and after our second stay felt we had to give credit where it's due. It's 100% worth the little extra, and deserves it. Thank you for both wonderful stays.

We booked two nights of dinner, bed and breakfast in a luxury double room, with beautiful views, and never wanted to leave. Everything was lovely and luxurious, and the food was outstanding, way above other tasting menus we've tried. We needed a special break to help us face some really challenging times ahead, and The Samling ticked every box. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Special thanks to Nigel and Rebecca for their sensitivity and humour.

Rebecca, the operations manager, was so lovely (I hope I’ve got her name spelled right!). The views were gorgeous, the food was gorgeous, and the drinks were wonderful. The staff were brilliant, and I’ve never felt so well looked after in a place before.

The staff really made this stay, with warm, attentive service throughout. Our room was thoughtfully laid out, and the restaurant matched the breathtaking Windermere views with a great meal. A boutique, high end retreat in the Lake District, and a wonderful stay from beginning to end.

The landscaped gardens and beautiful dining room are lovely, and you get wonderful views across the lake from almost every window. The newish driveway has also made getting to the hotel much easier.
