East Gate Boutique-Hotel

I stayed six nights in room 304 at East Gate Boutique Hotel, Tbilisi, and had a wonderful experience. The staff were consistently helpful. Inna checked me in, Mariami checked me out, and George, Artur, and Nicholas were all lovely at the front desk. The hotel is about 5 km from the center, in a quieter suburban area just off the highway to Kakheti. I liked being away from the crowds and noise while still being near the lively city. My room had a double bed and was very nice for a solo traveler, though two people would have felt crowded. The bathroom was spacious, but the shower area felt a bit cramped and could have been designed better. The wardrobe was too small to use properly with hangers. The TV worked well, and the coffee and tea supplies were generous. Breakfast was very good and normally starts at 9 a.m. When I asked for it at 8, they happily served me the full buffet in the restaurant then, which was an impressive gesture. Highly recommended.

A small but very nice hotel in the heart of residential Old Tbilisi. It gives you a feel for everyday Georgian middle-class life, and it's not far from Isani metro stations. Great value for the price.

The staff were good, but the place looked more like an inn than the hotel photos suggested. The beds and towels had an unpleasant smell, and the internet was very weak, sometimes cutting out completely.

The room was clean and really nice, with a balcony, and breakfast was tasty. The reception staff were very friendly. It's a little way from the city center, but the subway makes it easy to get there.
