Garnet Hotel

Lisa, the Front Office Manager, made a real difference during my stay. She helped me settle into a new country, explained local things, sorted out registration for the Tbilisi Parking app, and shared useful tips about the city. I was there for several days and found the hospitality and service genuinely welcoming. Hotel Garnet is in a great location, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Tbilisi.

It’s cheap and fine as a place to leave your bags and sleep, since you’ll be out most of the day anyway. The room is compact and the view isn’t pleasant. The blanket is pretty tiny, though.

We were moving on after an unexpectedly awful hotel, so we asked to see a room before officially booking. The receptionist was kind and showed us two options, both of which looked great. We ended up having a very pleasant stay, with comfortable beds and a good bathroom and shower. The neighborhood was great too, and the 24/7 reception meant we could check out early for our train. Would really recommend it.

For a business trip, Garnet’s location was the main plus: it’s near LibertySquare, The clock tower, See360restaurant, the funicular, botanical garden, bank branches, and plenty of cafes and restaurants. The rooms were clean and had a kettle, cups, and toothbrushes, which I don’t often see in 3*** hotels. I arrived early and could get into my room for an extra 10$, instead of waiting in the hall with my suitcases until lunch. I did have issues with how the extra services were shown on Booking. Breakfast appeared as included, but it turned out to cost extra. Garnet also showed up in airport transfer filter results, yet when I asked about a transfer, the hotel sent me back to Booking and said they don’t provide a free one. It’s an okay choice for business travel, but check the availability and price of extras ahead of time.
