It’s a quiet little place tucked behind the Presidential Palace. The room was comfortable, and the building has that distinctive, traditional Tbilisi look. You’re close to the center, with a viewpoint over the old city nearby.

The hostel felt completely empty, like a dead place or a fresh show. Never again!
Avlabari was the main reason the stay worked at all, with Old Tbilisi and its sights close enough to reach on foot. The room was fairly okay too, though for what we paid maybe I shouldn't complain. Still, after a week at Khidistavi 3, I wouldn't recommend it. The neighborhood seemed questionable, and living so close to the hosts was uncomfortable. They were upstairs and right behind our wall, so we heard cutlery clattering, the TV at night, and the family gathering in the evenings until the walls seemed to shake. Their kids and the rest of the family were up and moving noisily from 7 a.m. A dog also barked and howled nonstop during the day.
The host and room were both great, and their homemade wine was amazing. The metro and all the sights are about a 10-minute walk away. Come stay, you won't regret it. I'd recommend the place to everyone.
It was damp, with thin walls. The hallway and kitchen were shared with the neighbors.
