Our four days at Hotel Astoria Tbilisi were wonderful. It was spotless, peaceful, elegant, and comfortable, just right for unwinding after exploring the city. Victoria at reception deserves a special mention. She greeted us with a warm smile and was kind and professional, making us feel welcome from the start. She made an already great stay memorable. Weโll definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone wanting comfort, class, and heartfelt hospitality. Regards Shabbir Hussain ๐ซ
I was meant to stay three nights, but left after one because I couldn't put up with feeling harassed. When I brought the problems to the receptionist and manager, they questioned me and spoke rudely instead of trying to help. Breakfast was terrible, too. The room wasn't properly cleaned, and the bathroom didn't look fully clean either. The TV and phone didn't work, and the key card kept failing even after I stepped out briefly, so I had to go back to reception several times to reset it. The walls were so thin I could hear quiet conversations next door, which made sleeping difficult. The male staff were rude, racist, and had a terrible attitude. This doesn't feel like a four-star hotel, or even a three-star one to me. If you aren't Georgian, don't stay here.
The uphill walk back from Rustaveli Avenue is worth keeping in mind, especially with children or older guests. It's around ten minutes on foot, and the hotel is good value if you don't mind that climb or plan to use taxis or tours. My husband and I stayed at Astoria Hotel in September 2024. We were in the newer of the hotel's two buildings, so I can't speak for the rooms in the other one. Our ground-floor room had no particular view, but it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We also really liked the buffet breakfast.
Mr Ido deserves praise for always being helpful and very polite to customers. My experience with the reception staff was much less positive, especially with Nicola, who came across as unfriendly and hard to approach. We asked politely for a room with a bidet and were told they had all been removed throughout the facility. That didn't match our earlier stay: we'd spent three days and two nights at the same hotel in a room with an attached bidet, then left for one night and returned to hear there were no rooms with one. Before going down to speak to reception, my friend and sister even saw a room on the same floor with a bidet.
Michele and the rest of the staff were especially polite, humble, and helpful. The rooms, service, and breakfast were all very good, and the hotel is an easy walk from the city centre, Liberty square, and Galleria Mall. One of my best hotel stays in Tblisi. Highly recommend it.
