Hotel Aleksandria

That sunset view from the room was a highlight, and being right by Orbeliani Square made it easy to enjoy the town. The hotel was spotless, George was warm and accommodating, and David at the front desk was helpful too. We stayed for nine days and could do laundry there by asking. Just be ready for the stairs, since it’s on the fourth floor with no lift. I’d happily return. The first photo is of the building, and the next two show the view from our room.

After I booked a private room, they contacted me two weeks later to say the price had been listed by mistake and didn’t apply to a private room. I asked what could be done, but never heard back, so I had to cancel. If they make an error, they should take responsibility for it.

Getting around was easy, with taxis, currency exchange, the metro, public transport, the flea and flower markets, and the Peace Bridge all within walking distance. The hotel is on the fifth floor and has no lift, though. Hotel Aleksandria isn’t a five-star place with all the usual facilities, but it felt like home. The staff were ready to help, our special requests were handled, and the clean, bright rooms were cozy. We also had a lovely city view. I’d recommend it to families visiting Tbilisi who want a budget stay.

The rooms were clean, but keep your expectations modest. It feels more like a lodge, and you’ll need to carry your own luggage up to the top floor since there’s no elevator. Fine for a two-star hotel.
