Rooftop Apartments at Rustaveli Avenue Hotel

Lovely, cozy rooms right in the center on Rustaveli Avenue. The price is very good too. Highly recommended!

Awesome place, with great food and service.

Mariam, the owner, speaks English and Russian and gets back to you quickly. The guesthouse is on the city’s main street, with about six rooms, if I remember right, off a shared hallway kept cool by air conditioning. There’s no one at the counter, but you can use the microwave and sofas, and there’s a balcony for smoking. I had the orange room. It’s equipped with what you need, and the attic gives it a romantic touch. The air conditioning cools the small space quickly, and a curtain blocks the sun around 10 a.m. The bed was comfortable, the shower had a thermostat, and there was a desk and chair under the sloping roof. The room looks nice in photos, though in person it doesn’t feel as fresh. Getting up to the fourth floor may be an issue for some, and the orange room has no safe. The toilet often needed three flushes. Toiletries were limited to liquid soap and a couple of washers, and they didn’t change the linens or towels. The towels smelled unpleasant, as if washing wasn’t helping anymore. Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable: I couldn’t connect when I arrived at night, and it happened twice more during my five-day stay. I suspect the bundle of router and device wires in the lobby needs to be reconnected carefully. Paying the advance with Russian bank cards can also be complicated.
