toStay loft

The only real plus for us was the lively area, with plenty of bars and restaurants. We paid €70 a night, and it was by far the worst money I’ve spent on a place to stay. I can’t recommend it. We expected a balcony with a beautiful view from the Booking.com listing, but what we saw was graffiti-covered walls and straight into the neighbors’ property. The pictures on Booking are misleading. The rooftop was a letdown too: the stairs were narrow and felt unsafe, and there was no view worth mentioning. Hot water lasted only about 10 minutes in the shower. After that, we had to press a button and wait 20 minutes for it to heat again. When we called the apartment contact for help, we were told not to bother them in the evening unless it was an emergency. Apparently, running out of hot water didn’t count. There was no inside lock on the door, barely any room to move in the shower, and the harsh lighting made the place feel cold and unwelcoming.

We were four adults and a baby in a two-room apartment for six days, and the bathroom felt especially cramped because the apartment was much smaller than we expected. There was no hot water when we arrived. For several days we had to shower in another unit, and only at suitable times. Our baby went three days without a shower.

Monastiraki Square was, honestly, no more than 200m away, and the fresh fruit sold there made the stay even nicer. The Acropolis and some other included sights were within walking distance too. There were also several cafes and convenience stores nearby. I stayed here with my mum during our May 2024 trip to Greece, and toStay loft felt like a peaceful, convenient home away from home. It has a decent-sized bedroom and a clean, minimal bathroom, everything we needed for a good Athens trip near the sights. It’s also a reasonably priced place to come back to and rest after a day exploring the city. Definitely recommend it, and thank you!

The room’s cleaning and terrace view were good enough for a solo traveler or a couple, but the loft service was really unprofessional. The shower head kept shaking. When we asked the male receptionist for help, he rudely said he wasn’t the owner and locked the door. On our last day, we asked if he could arrange a taxi. He said pickups had to be requested at least a day ahead and by message, not in person. That felt awkward, since we’ve used plenty of taxi services in Athens.
