Getting there was a struggle, with luggage dragged about a quarter mile along steep hills and paths, and little to no help from staff. There didn’t seem to be a consistent receptionist around either, so I wasn’t sure how basic needs like fresh towels would be handled. Inside, our room had a door that wouldn’t lock properly, a trash-filled view just outside, and water leaking near the toilet vent. There was no working air conditioning in May. The unit blew hot air and made the room very uncomfortable. The pool was nothing like the advertisement. The photos showed what looked like a scenic sea-view pool, but the actual one was dark and underground. We didn’t feel safe or comfortable staying there. The listing and pictures made the place look modern and updated, but it was old, outdated, and poorly maintained. When we raised our concerns with the receptionist and manager, they were dismissed. We waited almost two hours for help, then were told the manager was unavailable because she was “in the bathroom.” We left and luckily found another place in Oia town at the last minute. It was a very disappointing stay, and I’d do extensive research before considering a reservation here. I’d strongly caution others before booking.

Cleopatra, the villa’s assistant, made a real difference to our stay. From the time we booked, she helped organize plans before and after our arrival, responded quickly, and was always willing to accommodate requests. She was warm and professional, and we’re very grateful. We stayed three nights for a special occasion, and the villa made the trip memorable. Its modern design, lovely colors, and smart layout felt different from the usual whitewashed Santorini style. The rooftop pool was a highlight, with one of the most breathtaking sunset views we’ve ever seen. There were a few minor maintenance issues, which we shared and the team acknowledged. We had a wonderful experience and would gladly return.

The transfer I booked, confirmed, and prepaid with the Sophia hotel never arrived to take me to the airport. At 3:30am I had to call an Uber and try to make my flight on time. Sophia still hasn’t refunded the service they never provided, and says their driver did pick me up and take me to the airport, even though the driver never contacted me. The communication, service, and customer satisfaction were terrible.

We had a really friendly welcome and got lots of interesting information about the island and the local area, along with tips on places to see and restaurants. The villa was amazing, very clean, and well maintained, and the staff were genuinely lovely and provided great service. The walk from the concierge to the villa took about five minutes with suitcases over cobbled streets, so it felt quite long.

Finikia is a traditional village with far fewer tourists than Oia, and the place was very nice for a stay near Oia, about a 20-minute walk away. It’s in an old cave house with a stunning design. The pool has a beautiful panoramic sunset view, and the staff were professional and attentive to what we needed.
