Adamant Suites

The view from the Moonstone Suite was magnificent, and it’s just a seven-minute walk from the bus station. Renos welcomed me so warmly, and the rest of the staff were very helpful. I had a great stay and will definitely come back!

We stayed in the Opal Suites, which was spacious and had incredible views. The staff were all wonderful and accommodating. Breakfast was a huge plus: they bring it to your room whenever you want, which worked well for us since we don’t usually wake up early enough for hotel breakfast. It was quiet and tucked away, but still walkable to everything, with lots of good restaurants and shops nearby. Worth the splurge!

We spent a few nights in the Emerald Suite last November, and it was a wonderful, memorable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Olga, Sakis and Christina. The cave-style room felt both unique and comfortable, and a bottle of wine was waiting for us. Breakfast was included each day and was indulgent. The caldera views from Fira were breathtaking, so don’t feel pressured to think Oia is the only village worth staying in. The property is close to central Fira square, with its shops and restaurants, and to the main bus station. Buses are cheap and reliable around the island and to and from the airport, as long as you don’t have too much luggage. One-way fares were €2.00 to €3 per person depending on the route, cash only, though exact change wasn’t needed.

The Opal Suite was fantastic, with a private jacuzzi, beautiful Aegean views and sunsets away from the crowds. The room was clean and turned over well each day. They left a 1L bottle of water daily and a bottle of wine for us when we arrived. Staff were the best, polite and helpful with luggage and breakfast. Each morning we could order from a menu, though you have to pick up and return the form to the check-in room every day. Leaving a stack in each room and having turnover staff collect them would save time. Getting around has its challenges. The place is uphill, and the climb up and steep steps down can be tiring. Finding the check-in room was confusing until we explored enough. The rooms aren’t very private, which I suppose is expected in Santorini, since people can see you from above and below. My only main complaint was the front desk man and how he handled check-in. I gave him my name, passport, email confirmations and wrote it on their sheet, but he misheard me saying “yes” when he asked if I was someone else. He still thought I was that person and took us to the wrong room. Once he realized, he corrected it promptly and moved us, but kept blaming me for the misunderstanding. I apologized, yet he wouldn’t let it go until I firmly reminded him he’d seen all my identification before putting us in the wrong room. Then he stopped and apologized. When I called before leaving to ask about checkout, he said there was a 10 euro tax. I only had a card, and he sounded annoyed, saying his card machine wasn’t working. Later he called back to say it would work in an hour, then called a third time to say to forget it and waived the fee. I didn’t appreciate his attitude. Despite that, the room and the rest of the staff were great, so I’d still recommend staying here and give it four stars.
